Duels are player versus player (PvP) challenges that allow two players to battle it out for the largest fish caught. To participate in duels, players must first build the Dueling Arena on the Home Island.
Requirements: Character level 3
Construction cost: 14 wood and 500
Duel matches[]
To start a duel, players must click on the 'Start' button in the Duels interface, following which the game will try to match the player with an opponent in the next 10 seconds. Players can be matched against opponents from their own leagues, as well as opponent from one higher or one lower league. If no opponent is found, players can initiate another search immediately afterwards.
Once a duel has begun, the two opponents have 5 minutes in which to catch the largest of two specified fish in the target destination, and thus obtain the highest score possible. Players need to pay a small entry fee in order to travel to the destination. The duration of the duel can be extended by 1 minute up to three times by clicking on the timer icon on the top of the screen: the first extra minute costs 10 , the second extra minute costs 15 , and the third extra minute costs 20 .
During a duel, players can send each other encouraging (or not-so-encouraging) messages such as "Boring!", "Good game!", "Thank you!", "Wow!" and "Good luck!".
At the end of the duel, players are automatically transported back to the Home Island by helicopter. Depending on the leagues that the two players belong to, players receive or lose duel trophies :
- If both players belong to the same league, the player with the higher score receives 5 , and the player with the lower score loses 2 .
- If the winner of the duel belongs to a lower league than that of the other player, they receive 6 , and the other player loses 3 .
- If the winner of the duel belongs to a higher league than that of the other player, they receive 4 , and the other player loses 1 .
