Don Pedro is the monster that can be found in Costa Rica.
In order to catch Don Pedro, the player must complete the quests given by Dr. Jules. In his final quest, Dr. Jules asks the player to buy some monster bait from Broken Rod Anglers Store (however, this is not necessary to catch Don Pedro) and tells the player to catch Don Pedro near Crocodile Beach. After having caught Don Pedro, the player must return Don Pedro to Dr. Jules to complete the quest and earn the Don Pedro badge.
Don Pedro can only be caught in the night around Crocodile Beach using the cast-and-wait method. Monster bait can be spread in areas where monsters can be caught; the presence of bubbles on the water surface indicates the monster is nearby. It is recommended to equip at least a Carbon Rod, ideally a Monster Hunter Rod, as well as Temporary Luck to increase the chances of a successful catch.
While waiting for a monster to bite, if Coco says "Patience...", it means that the spot is correct, and the monster will likely be caught on the next cast.
Prior to the June 2023 updates, it was possible to catch monsters using the cast-and-reel method in one of three or four spots, which were on a fixed schedule and changed daily. However, it is no longer possible to use this method to catch monsters, and the location is now random.
Don Pedro also became a lot larger after the June 2023 updates, so be careful when out monster hunting!
