Several characters can be encountered in the game in the various destinations. Many of these characters offer quests, including main-story quests that lead to catching the monster in that destination, or daily quests that offer a way to earn some extra coins .

NPC hints[]
Following patch 2.12 (11 April 2024), when players complete the quests given by some local NPCs, such as Chef le Cook and Sir Joseph Bellywise, they say ''I have a hint for you...'' and give some information regarding fishing locations for one of the fish or creatures found in the local area.
Paradise Island[]
At night, when the moon lights up the shallow waters, Bonefish come out of hiding in search of food around the island.
Green Humphead Parrotfish - these green beauties are active during the day and can be found in the shallow waters of coral reefs.
Green Humphead Parrotfish - these rare, green fish can be found grazing on sunny days on the plants near the island.
Look for the vibrant Peacock Mantis Shrimp among the coral reefs, where it uses its powerful claws to hunt.
Pacific Footballfish loves the darkness. Try your luck in night fishing in the northeastern waters of the island.
Pelagic Stingray can be caught both day and night, but only in the deepest waters.
The fearsome Bobbit Worm buries itself in the sandy seabed close to the shipwreck, waiting to ambush its next meal.
The Flower Tube Sea Anemone flourishes near the underwater platform, adorning the ocean floor with its colorful presence.
The mysterious depths hide epic creatures. Look for them in the farthest corners of the map, where darkness reigns even during the day.
This octopus thrives around the sunken lighthouse ruins, blending with the environment to surprise its prey.
Great Lakes[]
American eel is a mysterious fish that likes to hide in the misty depths of the southern part of the lake.
Flathead catfish feed at night near other catfish in the northeast.
Lake Trout is the largest local trout. It feeds, among other things, in the east near the dead forest.
Many anglers believe they have seen "Gold fish" in the strait between the three islands to the east.
Muskellunge is a notable predator. It is extremely rare and patrols all regions of the lake.
Lake sturgeon is a lover of fast currents and rocky surroundings. You will find it in the northwest.
Longnose gar prefers shallow waters. It is abundantly found in the southwestern part of the lake.
Salmon Chinook, like other salmon, prefers deeper waters in the center.
Costa Rica[]
Black Marlin is one of the fastest fish species in the world, hunting at night in the northwest.
Blue Marlin, along with other marlins, hunts at great depths.
Bull Shark, as a nocturnal hunter, requires vast spaces.
Hammerhead Shark, recognizable by its unique head shape, is most commonly found in open waters.
Like other marlins, Striped Marlin is found in the open waters of the ocean.
Nurse Shark, like most sharks in this region, feeds in the northwest.
Whale Shark is a true giant that spends its entire days in the northwest.
Whitetip Shark, a persistent hunter with distinctive fin tips, lives alongside other sharks in the northwest.
Alaska[]
Blue Lingcod is found in abundance in the east, in the southern part of the islet with the research station.
Halibut has a few scattered spots between the islets to the north of the landing site.
Ocean sunfish, a true giant, enjoys the open waters in the southeast.
Pacific Sleeper Shark, like the Ocean sunfish, can be encountered on the western coast.
Salmon Shark patrols the abandoned mine to the south.
Schools of King Salmon favor the coast of the old fishing base, southwest of the landing site.
Spiny Skate prefers colder regions. They have been seen in the depths to the west, near the old airport.
Wolf eel is a nocturnal hunter that thrives in the rocky surroundings to the south.
Australia[]
Despite its size, Queensland grouper prefers the shallow waters of the reef.
Giant Trevally is often seen hunting in packs, especially in the north near the stilt village.
Majestic mantas prefer shallow waters on coral reefs.
Powerful Hoodwinker sunfish are mainly found in the depths to the south.
Smooth Oreo Dory is a deep-sea species, a favorite delicacy of the Swordfish.
Spotted handfish is most active at night, traversing the rocky bottom near the southern island.
Swordfish are most easily spotted in the depths to the east around the solitary island.
Tiger shark often hunts at night and is particularly active in the depths to the north.
Scotland[]
A European eel known for its nocturnal life lives right next to the McGlen tower between the islets.
Bull Trout prefers fast water flow and is particularly fond of the rocky area near the pasture.
European whitefish thrives in the south's clear waters, between the golf course and a small tree-lined island.
Scottish Salmon congregate in the east. From there, they begin their journey to the ocean!
The European sturgeon loves the cold and dark depths near the cave, where it can find suitable hiding places.
You will find Grayling at the foot of the cliffs in the north.
