Bestiary

The bestiary is the in-game catalog of all the fish, creatures, trash and monsters that can be caught. It can be accessed by tapping the phone icon in the bottom left of the screen, and then by tapping on the journal icon. The bestiary provides a wealth of information including:

Icons of fish, creatures, trash and monsters already caught and silhouettes of those still missing
Lure levels for fish and monsters
Scientific names of fish and creatures
Rarity of fish, creatures and monsters
The player's highest record for fish, creatures and monsters caught (stars and weight)
Weight range for fish, creatures and monsters
Whether the fish, creature or monster can be caught in the day or night or both
What month the fish, creature or monster is most active during (indicated by Roman numerals, which directly correspond to the months of the year)

The bestiary can also be used to determine whether an undiscovered fish or creature can be caught at night only. The silhouettes for night fish and creatures appear as a much darker grey, whereas the silhouettes for day-only or day/night fish and creatures appear as a lighter grey.
